Course Description
Pathway to the International Green Flag Award
This course is designed for schools that have implemented the Eco-Schools Seven-Step process and are preparing to apply for the International Green Flag Award. It provides a clear overview of the assessment criteria and practical guidance to help schools plan their journey toward Green Flag recognition.
Eco-Schools is a global programme of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) that empowers young people to become active contributors to a more sustainable world through engaging, action-based, and socially responsible learning. The Seven-Step process places students at the centre of environmental decision-making and action, driving meaningful and lasting change within schools and their wider communities.
Through continued commitment to the process, schools demonstrate improvements in student learning, attitudes, behaviours, and the school environment. This course explains how to evidence these outcomes and confidently meet the requirements for International Green Flag status.
